With the aim of promoting foreign investment, attracting tourists and boosting exports of Latvian goods, on 16 September 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will organise its annual regional visit for heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Latvia, this time to the Latgale region. The aim of introducing the ambassadors to Latvia’s cultural and historical heritage, as well as investment and economic cooperation opportunities in the region, is complemented by the goal of emphasising the importance of strengthening Europe’s eastern flank and the contribution of Latvian authorities to reinforcing the border.
