On 14 and 15 June 2025, the United States Ambassador to NATO Matthew G. Whitaker will be visiting Latvia to discuss preparations for the NATO Summit in The Hague (24– 26 June) and exchange views on cooperation between Latvia and the United States in security and defence. The Ambassador arrives in Latvia on the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Baiba Braže. 

Matthew G. Whitaker will meet the Minister of Foreign Affairs Baiba Braže, the Minister of Defence Andris Sprūds, the Chief of Defence Kaspars Pudāns, and other senior officials.

Ambassador Whitaker will visit Ādaži Military Base to meet with the U.S. troops stationed in Latvia and the personnel of the NATO Multinational Brigade.
