On 28 and 29 October 2025, His Majesty King Frederik X of Denmark and Her Majesty Queen Mary of Denmark are paying a state visit to Latvia.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže, will participate in the official welcoming ceremony at Riga Castle, the laying of flowers at the Freedom Monument, visit the Museum of Occupation together with the delegation, as well as attending the state dinner hosted by the President of Latvia in honour of the royal couple.

During the state visit, Foreign Minister Baiba Braže will welcome the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Lars Løkke Rasmussen. The Ministers will discuss cooperation in bilateral and regional (NB8) formats, in NATO and other international fora, security and defence matters, support to Ukraine, constraining Russia, and Latvian-Danish cooperation in the UN Security Council.

In the presence of the Foreign Ministers, a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in the field of quantum technologies will be signed between Riga Technical University and the Niels Bohr Institute in Denmark. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding will take place in the atrium of the RTU Architecture and Design Institute, Ķīpsalas iela 6a, at 14:45 on 28 October.

His Majesty King Frederik X of Denmark has visited Latvia on previous occasions – in 1992 and 2018 – still in the capacity of Crown Prince of Denmark.
