On 6 January 2020, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andris Pelšs, met with the Ambassador of Uruguay, Pablo Alberto Porro Lancieri, who is in Latvia on an accreditation visit.
At the meeting, the officials discussed the bilateral relations between Latvia and Uruguay, cooperation in international organisation and regional security issues. The State Secretary and the Ambassador characterised the relations between the two countries as friendly and with a considerable potential for increasing business and trade.
The Ambassador has presented a copy of his letter of credence at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the accreditation ceremony with the President of Latvia, Egils Levits, scheduled to take place on 7 January.
