Dāvis Daudzvārdis and Edgars Rinkēvičs

On 11 July 2025, during a ceremony at Riga Castle, President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs presented a letter of credence to Dāvis Daudzvārdis, the incoming Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to the Kingdom of Norway.

He began his work at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2005 in the Bilateral Assistance Coordination Division, focusing on development cooperation issues. He has served as Head of the Administrative Legal Affairs Division, Deputy Director of the Legal Department and Head of the Administrative Legal Affairs Division, as well as Director of the Records Management Department.

Dāvis Daudzvārdis has served as a diplomat at the Embassy of Latvia to Israel and at the Permanent Representation to the European Union in Brussels.

Currently, he chairs the Ethics Council of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is a member of the Qualification Commission.

He holds a master’s degree in law from the University of Latvia and a master’s degree in Crisis and Security Management from Leiden University in the Netherlands.

Dāvis Daudzvārdis replaces Ambassador Mārtiņš Klīve, who has represented Latvia’s interests in Norway since 2021.
