On 19 August 2025, the political directors of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Baltic states and Germany gathered for consultations in Riga. The meeting addressed security policy matters of current relevance, with particular attention paid to the transatlantic dialogue and comprehensive support for Ukraine, especially in the military sector, in order to stop Russia’s war of aggression, which is posing threat to security across Europe. During the consultations, the officials discussed the steps to be taken after the NATO summit in The Hague, and the situation in the Middle East.
