On 26 September 2025, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Latvia to Poland, Raimonds Jansons, presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki.
In their conversation, the officials addressed bilateral relations between Latvia and Poland, Poland’s contribution to the NATO Multinational Brigade in Latvia, and joint efforts by the two countries to strengthen the eastern border. In the context of the recent visit of the Polish President to the United Nations, Latvia’s future work on the UN Security Council was discussed.
Raimonds Jansons extended an invitation from the President of Latvia to the President of Poland to make an official visit to Latvia, and the invitation was accepted.
In his present posting, Raimonds Jansons succeeds Juris Poikāns, who has been serving as Ambassador to Poland since 10 October 2021.
