On 27 April 2026, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to Andorra, Jānis Zlamets, presented his letter of credence to the Head of State of the Principality of Andorra, Co-Prince and President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron. The accreditation ceremony took place in Andorra in the presence of the other Co-Prince of the Principality of Andorra, the Bishop of La Seu d’Urgell, Josep Lluís Serrano Pentinat, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Andorra, Imma Tor Faus.
During the accreditation visit, bilateral relations between Latvia and Andorra and opportunities for their further development were discussed, along with current issues in Andorra’s relations with the EU. Successful cooperation with Andorra in international organisations was particularly highlighted.
The first part of the accreditation process took place on 16 May 2025, when the Ambassador presented his letter of credence to the Co-Prince of the Principality of Andorra, the Bishop of Urgell.
The Ambassador resides in Madrid, Spain. Diplomatic relations with Andorra were established on 27 August 1996.
