Latvijas un Jordānijas karogi

On 14–15 May 2026, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Ayman Safadi, will pay a working visit to Latvia. During the visit, he will meet with the President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže. He will also visit the Museum of the Occupation of Latvia and participate in a flower-laying ceremony at the Freedom Monument. An economic program is also scheduled during the visit, including visits to the Rīga Stradiņš University Medical Education Technology Centre and the military medical complex.

Ayman Al Safadi's visit will be the first bilateral visit in the history of Latvia–Jordan relations. As part of the visit, an agreement on the waiver of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic passports is expected to be signed, which will become the first intergovernmental agreement between the two countries. A memorandum of understanding on the establishment of a political consultation mechanism between the foreign ministries of both countries is also expected to be signed.
