On 7 May 2026, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže, will pay a working visit to Hesse, Germany, where she is scheduled to meet with Astrid Wallmann, President of the Landtag of Hesse, and Dr Matthias Büger, member of the Baltic Friendship Group of the Landtag of Hesse, to discuss opportunities for cooperation between Latvia and the State of Hesse, active parliamentary dialogue with Germany – including at the state level – as well as current issues on the international agenda.

The Minister will also visit the NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine (NSATU) Command Centre, where she will meet with Deputy Commander Major General Ulf Häussler.

Finally, the Minister is scheduled to attend a working dinner hosted by Dr Johann Wadephul, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany, and Antonio Tajani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy, where they plan to discuss the situation in the Middle East, transatlantic cooperation – including preparations for the NATO Summit in Ankara – as well as current developments in the European Union’s enlargement process.
