From 18 to 20 September 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže, will be in Japan for a working visit. Its aim is to strengthen the political and security dialogue between Latvia and Japan and promote cooperation in economy, attraction of investments, as well as technology and innovation.
In Tokyo, Foreign Minister Baiba Braže will meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Takeshi Iwaya, the Chair of the Japan-Latvia Parliamentary Cooperation Group, Hirofumi Nakasone, and experts from leading think-tanks.
While in Nagoya, Baiba Braže will meet with the Governor of Aichi Prefecture, Hideaki Ōmura, participate in a business seminar at the Nagoya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and meet with businesspeople.
Visiting Osaka, the Foreign Minister will take part in a seminar organised by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA), “How innovations in aerospace manufacturing can contribute to sustainability and environmental preservation?” and have a meeting with businesspeople, including as part of the Expo 2025 Osaka.
The Minister will also meet with other officials, Latvia’s Honorary Consuls in Nagoya and Osaka, members of the Japan-Latvia Society in Kansai and of business community, as well as giving interviews to the largest Japanese media.
