The Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs (OCMA) has developed a convenient and functional electronic tool (e-tool) for third-country nationals who legally reside in the territory of the Republic of Latvia and wish to obtain information about the process of applying for and receiving a Schengen short-stay visa and a national long-stay visa.

The visa e-tool is available on the OCMA website www.pmlp.gov.lv under the section “Visas and invitations” – “Visa issuance at OCMA.” It provides comprehensive information in one place about:

  • the application for a Schengen short-stay visa and a national long-stay visa;
  • the submission process for required documents;
  • the payment conditions and visa issuance;
  • the amount of the state fee and payment procedures.

The new visa e-tool helps users familiarise themselves with all the requirements step by step, making the process much clearer and more convenient, while also allowing to access and review the large amount of information related to applying for long-term and short-term visas in one modern and user-friendly place.

The e-tool is available in both Latvian and English: vizucelvedis.pmlp.gov.lv.

The development of the visa e-tool was financed within the framework of the 2021–2027 programme of the Financial Support Instrument for Border Management and Visa Policy project “Use and Development of the National Visa Information System (NVIS).”
