On 16 April 2026, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže, will meet with the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Mariana Betsa, who is paying a working visit to Latvia.

The officials will discuss current issues related to Latvia’s work at the UN Security Council, bilateral relations and Latvia’s support for Ukraine, as well as the situation in Ukraine and developments in the context of the peace process.

During the visit, which will take place from 16 to 17 April, Mariana Betsa will also meet with the Minister of Culture, Agnese Lāce; Deputy Speaker of the Saeima, Antoņina Ņenaševa; the Director of the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence, Jānis Sārts; and Advisors to the Prime Minister, Ivars Liepnieks and Salvis Draviņš. A visit to the Riga Ukrainian Secondary School and Centre for Education “VOLIA.lv” is also scheduled.
