On 28 January 2026, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže, will welcome the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden, Maria Malmer Stenergard, and the Minister of State for Europe, North America and Overseas Territories of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Stephen Doughty, during their respective working visits to Latvia.

During bilateral talks, Foreign Ministers will address current transatlantic cooperation and security matters, support for Ukraine and containment of Russia, NATO and EU-related cooperation, Latvia’s priorities on the UN Security Council, and opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation in economy and defence.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden will also address Latvian Ambassadors at the annual meeting of diplomatic representatives which takes place this week in Riga and brings together 45 Latvian Ambassadors from around the world. The Minister for Foreign Affairs will also visit the Camp Ādaži military base.

Meanwhile the Minister of State for Europe, North America and Overseas Territories of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland will visit the Autonomous Systems Competence Centre. The primary task of the Centre is to equip the National Armed Forces with air, sea, and land drones to reinforce military capabilities.
