From 24 to 26 February 2026, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže, will be on a working visit to the United States, covering both New York and Washington.
On 24 February, in New York, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will deliver a statement at the UN General Assembly emergency special session on Ukraine, convened at the request of Ukraine and Latvia. During the session, a vote is expected on the resolution On Support for a Lasting Peace in Ukraine.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže, will also deliver a national statement at the UN Security Council meeting on Russian aggression in Ukraine.

- The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže, will speak directly after the Secretary-General’s address.
On 25 and 26 February, in Washington, D.C., B. Braže, will meet with members of the US Administration and Congress, and will also participate in a conference held by GLOBSEC, an international security think-tank.
In addition, the Minister will join a roundtable discussion organised by the American-Central European Business Association (ACEBA) and meet with students from Georgetown University to discuss Latvia’s foreign policy priorities, efforts to strengthen NATO and European security, including through support to Ukraine, as well as Latvia’s priorities within the UN Security Council. The Minister will also give interviews to US media.
