On 28 August 2025, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Dace Rutka, submitted her credentials to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The accreditation ceremony took place at Akorda, the residence of the President of Kazakhstan in Astana, the nation’s capital city.
Nine ambassadors took part in the accreditation ceremony: alongside Dace Rutka, credentials were submitted by the Ambassadors of Ukraine, Georgia, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Belgium, India, the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, and the Permanent Representative of the United Nations.
A day earlier, on 27 August, Dace Rutka met with Kazakhstan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Arman Issetov, to submit copies of her letters of credence. During their meeting, the diplomats discussed the bilateral agenda, including the ways to expand economic cooperation, especially in the areas of transit, transport and logistics, as well as possibilities to deepen relations between the EU and Central Asia.
In her present posting, Ambassador Dace Rutka succeeds Irina Mangule, who has been Ambassador to Kazakhstan since 2020.
