On 8–9 October 2026, an informal meeting of European Union (EU) Foreign Affairs Council of ministers in the development cooperation format will take place in Dublin, Ireland, where Latvia will be represented by Dace Melbārde, Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting is scheduled to address the future of global development cooperation and challenges in the field of humanitarian aid, with particular emphasis on the importance of international coordination and private sector engagement. Representatives from Canada, the United Kingdom, Norway and Iceland, as well as representatives from the United Nations, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Investment Bank and the International Rescue Committee, will also take part in the discussions.
