Grant competition for development cooperation projects

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs concludes a grant project competition, “Support for Development Cooperation and Development (Global) Education Projects Funded by the European Commission and Other International Aid Donors in the Recipient Countries Defined by the Republic of Latvia and in the Republic of Latvia”.

As a result of the project evaluation, a decision was made to grant co-financing to the association “Latvian Platform for Development Cooperation” for the following global education projects:

  1. “Cooperation for global change”, enabling young people to take joint responsibility for creating a more inclusive, equal and sustainable world.
  2. “DYCDE! Digital Global Citizenship for Youngsters & Educators in Partnership” for young people to gain a deeper understanding of global interconnections and the importance of intercultural cooperation in sustainable development, using digital global education tools.
  3. “GEAR UP! – global education activities to strengthen youth participation through the support of local governments and civil society organisations in order to promote the achievement of sustainable development goals”, by increasing youth awareness of climate change, sustainable development, and gender equality.

The approved projects have received financial support from the European Commission.

The aim of the competition is to provide additional financial support to project implementers who have been able to secure funding from other development cooperation funders for the implementation of development cooperation and global education projects.

In accordance with the Development Cooperation Policy Plan for 2024-2027, applications for the competition could be submitted by civil society organisations.
