On 24 and 25 February 2022, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia, Eva Maria Liimets, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landbergis, will make a visit to Ukraine to demonstrate solidarity and support for Ukraine at the time when Russia has launched yet another serious attack on Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.  

Meetings have been scheduled for the Ministers with the President of Ukraine, the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian Parliament, the Prime Minister, and the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defence.

The Baltic States’ ministers and senior Ukrainian officials will discuss the current security situation and possibilities for the international community to assist Ukraine with enhancing its resilience and stabilisation of the economic situation. The Foreign Ministers will also present information on designing and enforcement of the European Union sanctions against Russia in response to Russia’s aggression.

An online press conference of the Foreign Ministers of the Baltic States and Ukraine will be held on 25 February. Members of the media must register their participation in advance and indicate their interest in asking questions. The media of each country will have the opportunity to put one question.
