From 24 to 26 June 2026, the annual Ukraine Recovery Conference and related high-level events took place in Gdańsk, Poland, bringing together political leaders, international donors, institutions, business representatives and civil society. The conference focused on the sustainable and strategic reconstruction of Ukraine, the role of the private sector, and support for the public. The delegation led by the Prime Minister of Latvia, Andris Kulbergs, included representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Juris Poikāns, Ambassador-at-Large for Ukraine’s reconstruction and recovery; Andrejs Pildegovičs, Latvia’s Ambassador to Ukraine; and Raimonds Jansons, Latvia’s Ambassador to Poland.

The conference was preceded by a meeting of the Steering Committee of the Ukraine Donor Platform, during which Ukraine’s partners emphasised that all forms of support for Ukraine will continue, particularly in the areas of financial stability, energy, infrastructure and security, as well as economic growth and reform implementation. Latvia’s support focuses on energy, EU reforms and digitisation, social infrastructure and other areas.

One of the high-level events was a meeting of the G7+ Energy Coordination Group, attended by Latvia’s Ambassador to Ukraine, Andrejs Pildegovičs. He confirmed that Latvia is providing support for Ukraine’s resilience:

“We are supplying cogeneration equipment and contributing to the international Ukraine Energy Support Fund. We urge you to use Latvian technologies and do everything possible to properly prepare Ukraine’s power grid for winter.”

A business fair was held during the conference, featuring Latvian companies SIA TETERS, SIA Tilde, SIA Easywood and SIA FORTES, which operate in the fields of demining and drone manufacturing, digitalisation, construction and energy. Business representatives met with Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs and European Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis to discuss their experience in Ukraine and future plans. Communication with Ukrainian government institutions, regional representatives and foreign donors highlighted opportunities for further cooperation and demonstrated that Latvia’s solutions are competitive and relevant to the recovery process.

The Ukraine Recovery Conference has been held for the fifth time since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022, with the aim of mobilising international support for Ukraine’s recovery, reforms and modernisation, as well as promoting a coordinated approach to the effective use of resources.

The Ukraine Donor Platform was established in January 2023 by the G7 countries – the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Japan, Canada and Germany – as well as the European Commission and Ukraine, to coordinate support for Ukraine in the areas of finance, recovery and reform implementation. Latvia has been acting as an observer since February 2024.
