On 28 May 2025 in Jerusalem, Israel, the Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Artjoms Uršuļskis, took part in the Foreign Ministers’ Conference on Combating Antisemitism, Together in Effort, United in Impact.
The forum focused on an increase in antisemitism after a massacre by the Hamas terrorist group on 7 October 2023. The conference sessions featured discussions on the role of social media in spreading and fuelling antisemitism, antisemitism in the academic setting, cooperation in combating expressions of hate, and the role of civil society in that. Participants also visited the World Holocaust Remembrance Centre, Yad Vashem.
The conference was organized by Israel, the country currently holding Presidency of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA). The Israeli Presidency of IHRA (March 2025 – February 2026) is committed to providing expertise and perspectives regarding the preservation and effective dissemination of Holocaust-related research, education and commemoration.
The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) is an intergovernmental organization with 35 member countries, as well as observer countries and permanent international partners. Latvia became a member of IHRA in 2024.
