Ministry of Foreign Affairs

On 13 November 2025, the Sanctions Coordination Council will convene for their 16th meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to hold a discussion on current issues related to the application, coordination and monitoring of international and national sanctions in Latvia, as well as improving cooperation between the public and private sectors in the application of sanctions.

The Sanctions Coordination Council is an interinstitutional cooperation platform established to ensure a uniform and effective approach to the enforcement and compliance with sanctions in Latvia. The aim of the Council is to facilitate the exchange of information between public authorities and promote consistency in the implementation of the sanctions policy. Institutions involved in the monitoring and enforcement of sanctions are represented on the Council. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs performs the functions of a secretariat for the Sanctions Coordination Council.

The Council membership comprises more than 30 public and private sector institutions.
