On 5–7 June 2026, the 35th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Business Forum will take place in Riga. The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže, will participate in the opening session on 5 June.
The Annual Meeting and Business Forum will bring together high-level political representatives and participants from government institutions, the private sector, civil society, and academia in a variety of discussion formats.
This year, the meeting and forum will place significant emphasis on the development of the Baltic region and support for Ukraine, as well as other EBRD partners in the context of the current geopolitical and macroeconomic situation. Discussions will focus on promoting competitiveness and resilience, including sustainable investment and business environment solutions, infrastructure development, digitisation and technologies, as well as good governance and human capital issues.

EBRD meetings are held annually in one of the 77 shareholder countries. This is the second time the meeting is taking place in Riga; the previous one was in 2000.
