From 12 to 14 February 2026, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže, will attend the 62nd Munich Security Conference, where she will speak at several high-level discussions on current foreign and security policy challenges and meet with ministers from Ukraine and other countries.

At the Munich Security Conference, Baiba Braže will take part in a discussion with the Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr Johann Wadephul, on European security architecture and current foreign and security policy matters.

The Minister will speak at the European Defence Townhall discussion. The discussion will take place on Thursday, 12 February 2026, from 16:30 to 18:30 (Latvian time) and can be viewed remotely on the Munich Security Conference website European Defence Townhall – Munich Security Conference.

Baiba Braže will also participate in a discussion organised by the Ditchley Foundation titled Europe Strikes Back: How to Decisively Respond to Hostile States and other discussions.

The Minister is scheduled to hold a series of bilateral meetings, including with the European Union’s Sanctions Envoy, David O’Sullivan, the President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Marcos Perestrello, the President of the International Criminal Court, Judge Tomoko Akane, and Deputy Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, Oleg Shymanskyi.

The Munich Security Conference will host a joint meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Baltic and Nordic countries (NB8) with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha.

Baiba Braže is scheduled to hold talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Principality of Liechtenstein, Sabine Monauni, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, Dr Abdulla Khaleel, the Minister of State of the United Arab Emirates, Lana Nusseibeh, and others.

The Munich Security Conference is the world’s leading forum for debating the most pressing challenges to international security. During its main conference in February, the Munich Security Conference assembles more than 450 senior decision-makers from around the world, including heads of state, ministers, leading personalities of international and non-governmental organisations, as well as high-ranking representatives from business, the media, academia, and civil society.
