On 8 and 9 May 2025, the leader of the democratic forces of Belarus, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, will visit Riga and give a keynote speech at the discussion co-hosted on Europe Day by the Latvian Institute of International Affairs (LIIA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, The Role of Belarus in the Political and Security Architecture of Europe: Perspective from the Baltic Region, addressing participants and policy experts from Lithuania, Poland, and Latvia. The event will be opened by Artjoms Uršuļskis, Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Kārlis Bukovskis, Director of LIIA.
As part of her visit, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya is to meet with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andžejs Viļumsons.
The leader of democratic forces of Belarus will also participate in a conference on parliamentary democracy held by the Baltic Assembly, meet with the Speaker of the Saeima, Daiga Mieriņa, and attend the unveiling of an exhibition about political prisoners in Belarus.
