On 15 July 2025 in Brussels, Belgium, the Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Artjoms Uršuļskis, will take part in a meeting of the European Union (EU) Foreign Affairs Council.

  • Ukraine. EU foreign ministers will elaborate on how to further enhance all kinds of support to Ukraine and increase pressure on Russia. The Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrii Sybiha, will join the meeting via videoconference.
  • Sanctions. A discussion on the 18th package of EU sanctions against Russia.
  • Situation in the Middle East. A discussion on developments in the region, including the humanitarian situation in Gaza, as well as between Israel and Iran.
  • Georgia. A discussion on further action by EU institutions and member States in view of an increased democratic backsliding in Georgia.

On 14 July 2025, on the eve of the Foreign Affairs Council, the EU-Southern Neighbourhood Ministerial Meeting is being held in Brussels to have an exchange of views on the geopolitical situation in the region.

The Member States’ foreign ministers will meet with the Moldovan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mihai Popșoi, for an exchange of views on the outcomes of the EU-Moldova summit and on the upcoming parliamentary elections in Moldova. The Council is expected to adopt a decision on further listings under the sanctions regime for destabilising actions against the Republic of Moldova.
