Kiprā akreditēta Latvijas vēstniece Ieva Briede

On 8 December 2022, in an official ceremony in Nicosia, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Latvia, Ieva Briede, submitted her letter of credence to the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades.

During a meeting, the officials reaffirmed the good and friendly relations between their two countries. The Ambassador pledged Latvia’s commitment to continued strengthening of political dialogue, expanding business and cultural links, as well as facilitating cooperation to address international and regional challenges in the format of international organisations. Ieva Briede underlined that regardless of geographical distance, Latvia and Cyprus were closely connected by shared values, interests and challenges.

“The Green Deal, digital transformation, energy security, seeking sustainable and innovative solutions to prevent ecological problems in the marine environment are but a few of areas and common goals, a successful implementation of which would contribute to the closer cooperation and experience sharing between the two countries,” Ieva Briede underlined.

As part of her accreditation visit, the Ambassador also meets with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, and with members of diplomatic corps accredited in Cyprus.
