  • Latvian Embassies provide consular services only to persons whose place of residence abroad has been registered in the Latvian Register of Natural Persons.
    • Before applying for the service at the Embassy, check that you have declared your residence abroad.
    • The declaration of the place of residence by Embassy is a consular service with a consular fee of EUR 90.00.
  • The Consular Section of the Latvian Embassies provide consular services on-site only by prior appointment.
    • Please arrive at the Embassy’s Consular Section at the exact time of your appointment and ensure that you bring all required documents.
    • If you are unable to attend your appointment at the Embassy, please cancel it in advance to allow others to make use of the available appointment slot.

Submission of visa applications and entry into the Republic of Latvia

  • VFS GLOBAL Visa Centres:

  • Persons holding passports of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan for short term (Schengen) visas to travel to Latvia and persons with Kazakhstan passports travelling to Sweden, as well as persons holding passports of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan and requiring national (D) visas, should submit their documents in the visa centres, as it is mentioned above. Please be aware that registration for document submission at the VFS GLOBAL visa centres is FREE OF CHARGE.
  • Every person registering at the visa centre, should register individually, sign with his/ her full name, working phone number and existing e-mail address. Individuals deciding to use authomatic systems and/ or services of middlemen (e.g. travel companies, private helpers, etc. offering visa services) should take a full responsibility of these actions, as the Embassy do not provide any authorisation to these entities, except the visa centres mentioned here.
  • During the time periods of increased number of visa applications, the visa evaluation process can be extended up to 30 days.

  • In accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers Regulations of the Republic of Latvia No. 725 of 03.08.2010 and other legislative acts, the following categories of persons can apply for consular services at the Embassy of Latvia in Uzbekistan: all Latvian passport holders and their family members; all residents of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan in order to apply for a short-term visa to the Republic of Latvia (length of stay – until 90 days in any 180 days’ period); residents of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan in order to apply for long-term visas (stay over 90 days in any 180 days’ period) or temporary residence permit.
  • The residents of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan should submit the visa applications at VFS Global visa centre. 
  • Citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan are subject to additional verification in accordance with the Regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Latvia No. 554 "Regulations on countries whose citizens are subject to additional verification when issuing a visa or residence permit".

  • To book an appointment. for a Schengen visa, long-term visa, or documents with positive OCMA decisions, please use the VFS Global website 
  • The residents of Afghanistan have to submit their documents for visa or residence permit at the Embassy. In order to book an appointment kindly send an e-mail to consulate.uzbekistan@mfa.gov.lv, indicating your full name and invitation number.
  • The applications of residents of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan or Turkmenistan for residence permit in Latvia, and consular services to Latvian nationals are also provided in the Embassy by prior appointment by sending an e-mail to consulate.uzbekistan@mfa.gov.lv.
  • To clarify additional questions, you must call: +998 71 237 0851 from 15:00 to 16:00 or write to the consular department email: consulate.uzbekistan@mfa.gov.lv The letter must indicate the surname, first name, citizenship and phone number.
