On 20 February, recalling the tragic events that took place during “Euromaidan” in 2014, as well as Russia’s military activities within Ukrainian territory which began seven years ago, Latvia reiterates its unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Together with the international community, Latvia has consistently condemned and stood up against the illegal activities and violations of international law performed by the Russian Federation with the intent of undermining Ukraine’s sovereignty, and Latvia shall be steadfast in maintaining the policy of non-recognition till the territory will be returned to Ukraine. Latvia will also continue to offer assistance to Ukraine in its reform process and to support Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations.

On 26 February, the Day of Resistance to occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol will be marked.
