Akreditācijas vēstuli saņem Latvijas vēstnieks Indijā Juris Bone

On 19 October 2022, in an official ceremony in Riga Castle, the President of Latvia, Egils Levits, presented credentials to the next Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to India, Juris Bone.

During the accreditation ceremony, Ambassador Bone and the President of Latvia discussed the opportunities for cooperation between Latvia and India. Latvia and India are linked by common democratic values. The two countries are interested in the strengthening of the international rules-based international order. The officials underlined the need for continued exchange of high-level visits, promotion of business contacts through facilitating trade and investment, as well as cooperation in culture and education.

Juris Bone began working for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1994. He has been posted as Ambassador of Latvia to Estonia and Finland and served as head of the Latvian delegation in negotiations on the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Latvia and the Government of the Russian Federation on the Latvia-Russia border regime, an Ambassador-at-Large for international climate issues, Latvia’s representative and Chairman of the Committee of Senior Officials at the Council of the Baltic Sea States, and the Head of the State Protocol. 

In this posting, Juris Bone succeeds Artis Bērtulis, who had been Ambassador of Latvia to India since 2018.
