Akreditācijas vēstuli saņem nākamais Latvijas vēstnieks Uzbekistānā Reinis Trokša

On 31 August 2021, the President of Latvia, Egils Levits, presented credentials to the next Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Reinis Trokša.

Reinis Trokša began his career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2003. The Ambassador has held various positions since then, including postings to the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Latvia to the European Union and the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in France; he has also been Head of the OECD and Economic Cooperation Division at the Economic Relations and Development Cooperation Policy Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Director of the Economic Relations and Development Cooperation Policy Department. 

For his commendable work, Reinis Trokša, has been awarded a Certificate of Recognition from the Cabinet of Ministers.

Reinis Trokša has graduated from the Riga Stradiņš University with the degree of Bachelor Soc.Sci. in Management Science, as well as pursuing professional development at the Centre for Management and Policy Studies in the UK and under a programme of the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

The Ambassador is fluent in English and Russian.

Ambassador Trokša is succeeding Mihails Popkovs, who was representing Latvia’s interests in Uzbekistan from 2018 till this year.
