Official visit

An official invitation of the Speaker of the Saeima

• Welcoming at the airport
• Flower-laying ceremony at the Monument of Freedom
• Meeting with the Speaker of the Saeima
• Meeting with the President
• Meeting with the Prime Minister
• Meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs
• Official luncheon/dinner - hosted by the Speaker of the Saeima
• Meeting with the Saeima Group for promoting cooperation with parliament of the State concerned
• Press conference (optional)
• Visit to the Museum of the Occupation of Latvia
• Regional tour (with regard to the visiting country’s interests and the history of co-operation)
• Exchange of gifts

Official delegation 1 (2) + 8, subject to reciprocity

The Saeima

• The costs for the official delegation - (Airport VIP lounge, hotel, official meals, transport and interpreter services (ENG-LV)) are covered by the Administration of the Saeima
• Other expenses covered by the visiting state

• The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Latvia to the state concerned
• The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the state concerned to Latvia
• The Head of the Saeima Protocol Department
• An Officer from the Saeima Protocol Department

The Security and Road Police escort is provided according to the Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 591 “Procedures by which the Security Police (now – State Security Service – auth.) Provides Protection (Safeguarding) for Public Officials”

Working Visit

An invitation of the Speaker of the Saeima or initiative of the visiting state

• Meeting with the Speaker of the Saeima
• Other meetings at the suggestion of the Latvian side, or at the request of the visiting country (e.g. Specific Commissions, Ministries)
• Exchange of gifts by mutual arrangement

1 + 8, subject to reciprocity

• Working luncheon/dinner - the Saeima
• Transport for the delegation, Airport VIP lounge - the Saeima

• The Head of the Saeima Protocol Department
