San Francisco City Hall and Los Angeles Grand Park Fountain to be lit in the colors of the Latvian flag

Ambassador of Latvia Andris Teikmanis has supported the successful attempts of the Northern California Latvian Association in their cooperation with the San Francisco City Hall, which has decided to light the City Hall building in the colors of the Latvian flag from sunset until midnight on Friday, November 16. The Latvian flag will also fly from the balcony of Mayor London Nicole Breed on that same day starting around noon to celebrate the Centennial of the Republic of Latvia.

Thanks to the initiative of Mr Juris Buņķis, Honorary Consul of Latvia in Southern California, the fountain at the Grand Park in Los Angeles will shine in the colors of the Latvian flag on November 18. A week earlier, on November 11 at 5 pm at Balboa Park, San Diego there will be an organ concert by the Latvian organist Liene Andreta Kalnciema and large celebration organized by the Honorary Consul, the Riga-San Diego Friendship Association and the local Latvian community.

As reported previously, on November 17 starting at 9 pm the Niagara Falls will be lit in the Latvian colors. Read more here:

Also, the Morrison Bridge in Portland, Oregon will be lit in the Latvian colors for three nights from November 16 to 18.
