On March 26 Latvia’s Ambassador to the U.S. Andris Razāns took part in the inauguration of Valmiera Glass USA headquarters in Dublin, Georgia.
In addressing those present, the Ambassador emphasized the Latvian company’s success in taking advantage of opportunities offered by the U.S. business environment. The Ambassador pointed out that the opening of the company’s manufacturing in the U.S. concides with the 75th anniversary of the U.S. non-recognition policy regarding the illegal incorporation of the Baltic countries into the Soviet Union. This notable event in Latvia-U.S. relations has created a positive backdrop for cooperation between our two countries. The activity of Latvia’s entrepeneurs in cooperation with their U.S. partners is one of the most important prerequisites for furthering close political ties between our two countries.
U.S. long-term support for Latvia’s independence and security has encouraged the growth of Latvia’s businesses and their strengthening internationally, including in the U.S. The example of Valmiera Glass demonstrably affirms the growth potential of Latvia’s businesses ties with the United States, stated A.Razāns.
The following entities participated and addressed those present at the opening: leadership of Valmiera Glass USA Corp, officials from the state of Georgia and municipal representatives, as well as Mr. Phil Best, Mayor of Dublin, Georgia; Mr. Jānis Baiks, Mayor of Valmiera, Latvia; and Mr. Arvils Ašeradens, Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Latvia.
