Ambassador Andris Razans presents credentials to President Obama

On July 30, 2012 in a White House ceremony, Ambassador Andris Razâns presented his credentials to U.S. President Barack Obama. With this formality, Andris Razâns has officially begun his duties as Latvia's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the U.S.

In his remarks to the U.S. President, Ambassador Razâns emphasized the continuity and the strategic partnership of Latvia-U.S. relations, which encompass a wide range of cooperation areas stretching from security issues to educational exchanges and cooperation in expanding economic ties. In return, the U.S. President pledged his support for the further strengthening of the U.S.-Latvia relationship.

Former Ambassador Andrejs Pildegoviès has assumed the position of Deputy State Secretary and Political Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia.
