Latvian Embassy in Prague Paid Tribute to Victims of Roma Holocaust in Lety

On 13 May the deputy of Latvian Ambassador in Prague, Rūta Radiņa, participated in the Wreath Laying Ceremony in Lety, a place where the Nazis built a concentration camp in 1942. Lety concentration camp is a tragic place from which 420 prisoners were sent to death in Oświęcim, many were tortured and died of diseases. The Minister for Human Rights, Equal Opportunities and Legislation, Jiří Dienstbier, representatives of the Czech government and a wide scope of diplomatic corp also participated in this commemorative ceremony. The French, German and Swedish Ambassadors called for preventing discrimination of Roma people and appealed for their integration.
