At the international tourism film festival „Tourfilm” in Karlovy Vary a short film from Latvia got awarded. „Asa and Hakan in Latvia” reached 3rd place in the category of films of less than 30 minutes lenght. The film resulted from a cooperation between the National Agency for Tourism Development and the production company "Vides filmu studija".

On Friday 7 October Ambassador of Latvia to the Czech Republic Mr. Kaspars Ozoliņš received the award for the short film at the Award ceremony in Grandhotel Pupp in Karlovy Vary.

The award for „Asa and Hakan in Latvia” follows the succesful Latvian achievements from the past years. In 2010 the Latvian film „Christman Miracle in Riga” won the Grand prix at the „Tourfilm” festival. Just like the film „Sounds like Latvia” did in 2007.

This year the 44th „Tourfilm” festival took place on 6 -8 October. It is the oldest tourism film festival in the world. This year almost 500 films from 135 took part in the contest.
