On 3rd march, the Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to the Czech Republic Kaspars Ozoliņš will open the exhibition "Art Nouveau in architecture of Riga” to be held in Liberec Region Library. The exhibition will provide the Czech people with an insight into the extensive Art Nouveau heritage in Riga. Considering the value of Art Nouveau architecture in the city, the historic centre of Riga was included in UNESCO World heritage list in 1997.
The exhibition "Art Nouveau in architecture of Riga” is prepared by Riga municipal agency "Riga City Architect's Office" and the exhibition curator is professor at the Riga Technical University, Jānis Krastiņš.
Exhibition in Liberec is held to continue the current co-operation in the field of culture between the Latvian Embassy in Prague and Liberec Region Library. The exhibition in Liberec will be open until 27 March. Liberec Region Library receives 33 thousand visitors each month, therefore the exhibition will be visible to a considerable visitors’ flow.
In April the exhibition "Art Nouveau in architecture of Riga" will be held in Brno, and exhibitions are planned also in Plzen and Prague.
