OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises are the most comprehensive set of government-backed recommendations on responsible business conduct in existence today. They provide non-binding principles and standards for responsible business conduct in a global context consistent with applicable laws and internationally recognised standards.
All OECD members and 12 non-OECD countries adhering to the OECD Declaration on International Investment and Multinational Enterprises have accepted the Guidelines. Latvia subscribed to the Declaration in 2004.
The OECD Guidelines are recommendations from governments to multinational enterprises operating in or from their countries.
