Ambassador Kārlis Eihenbaums at Fortissimo 2019 in Ottawa

Ambassador Kārlis Eihenbaums and his wife Ināra had the great honour and privilege to be a part of FORTISSIMO 2019 on the 19th July on Parliament Hill as guests of reviewing officer and friend of Latvia, Vice Chief of Defence Staff Lieutenant-General Paul F. Wynnyk, CMM, MSM, CD, who performed his last duty in uniform.

The Ceremonial Guard has been performing Fortissimo/Beating Retreat since 1997 as military spectacle and sunset ceremony on Parliament Hill. This year’s participation included the Latvian National Armed Forces Staff Orchestra, Drums, Dancers from Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg, the Dominion Carillonneur and the Canadian Armed Forces Parachute Team, the SkyHawks, the 30th Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery, the Central Band of the Canadian Forces, the Band, Pipes and Drums of the Ceremonial Guard, Massed Pipes and Drums Band from across the Canadian Army and the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry Ceremonial Troop – in total over 300 participants.
