Intern Kristīne Fainveica:
“I had recently completed my master’s studies in international criminal law in the United States and was looking for an opportunity to obtain practical experience within national administrative bodies and international organizations. As I was in New York City, I applied for an internship at the Permanent Mission of Latvia to the United Nations, where I spent five months.
During my internship, I had the opportunity to participate in UN committee meetings, international level conferences, assist with organizing events and support colleagues in their day-to-day work. I am extremely grateful for the chance I had to work with such experienced diplomats, learn from their experience, as well as learn more about Latvia’s political interests and role in international organizations. This experience helped me develop my skills and guided me to the next steps of my career.
I highly recommend that anyone who is interested in learning about diplomatic careers and Latvia’s role in international organizations apply for an internship at the Mission of Latvia to the UN!”
