The situation in Moldova following no-confidence vote in Parliament

13.11.2019. 09:47

On 12 November 2019, a no-confidence vote by Moldova’s parliament against the government of Prime Minister Maia Sandu has raised doubts about the country’s stability and reform process.

Prime Minister Sandu’s government has been engaged in an effort to tackle corruption and launch much needed judicial reforms thereby renewing financial support from international partners. Moldova should continue to implement reforms in order to improve the welfare of its citizens.

Latvia calls upon Moldova’s political forces to form a government which is capable of operating in the long term and continue the process of reform in line with the Association Agreement between the EU and Moldova.
