On 14 October 2019, the State Secretary of the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andris Pelšs, met with the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Latvia, Najeeb Abdulrahman Al-Bader, who had arrived on an accreditation visit.
The State Secretary noted that Latvia was interested in pursuing active political and economic cooperation with Kuwait. The officials discussed opportunities for investing in Latvia’s information and communication technology, transport and logistics, tourism and hospitality sectors, as well as exchanging views on processes in the Middle East.
The Ambassador Al-Bader’s accreditation visit with the President of Latvia, Egils Levits, is taking place on 15 October.
The Ambassador of Kuwait, Najeeb Abdulrahman Al-Bader, resides in Berlin, Germany.
Kuwait recognised the Republic of Latvia on 15 September 1991, and diplomatic relations were established between Latvia and Kuwait on 15 July 1994.
