On 25-26 August 2019, the Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Zanda Kalniņa-Lukaševica, will take part in a political discussion session titled “Lost in Translation? The EU’s Struggle to Speak with One Voice on Foreign Policy” during the European Forum Alpbach in Austria. The discussion is organised by the Munich Security Conference and the Parliamentary Secretary is participating in the event at the invitation of the Chairman of the MSC, Ambassador Wolfgang Ischinger.
The Parliamentary Secretary will also take part in the forum’s plenary sessions on OSCE and the role of the EU in promoting stability, democracy and peace in its neighbourhood.
The European Forum Alpbach, founded in 1945, is an interdisciplinary platform for science, politics, business and culture. Its aim is to promote dialogue across generations and between various ideologies and to foster the development of a democratic society. The general topic of this year’s European Alpbach Forum is “Liberty and Security”.
