The President of Latvia presents letters of credence to Aiga Liepiņa, the Ambassador of Latvia to the Netherlands

During a special ceremony held at Riga Castle on 13 August 2019, the President of Latvia, Egils Levits, presented letters of credence to Aiga Liepiņa, the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Aiga Liepiņa began her career in the Latvian Foreign Service in 1995. She has worked at the Personnel Division and headed the International Organisations Division. From 2002 to 2006, Aiga Liepiņa served at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Latvia to the United Nations in New York. From 2009 to 2014, she was the Ambassador of Latvia to the Council of Europe, and from 2009 to 2013 – also non-resident Ambassador of Latvia to Serbia. At present, Aiga Liepiņa is the Director of the International Organisations and Human Rights Department.

Aiga Liepiņa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and a Master’s Degree in Political Science (International Relations). She is fluent in English, Russian and French.
