Foreign Minister commends German Ambassador’s contribution to expanding of bilateral relations

On 5 June 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Edgars Rinkēvičs, welcomed a farewell visit from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany, Rolf Ernst Schütte.  

The Foreign Minister thanked the Ambassador for his contribution to the development of cooperation between Latvia and Germany through promoting an active dialogue and facilitating economic and cultural contacts. The officials commended the current versatile relationship at all levels and committed themselves to taking it forward.

Edgars Rinkēvičs made note of the substantial contribution by Germany to the strengthening of security in the Baltic Sea region, and he welcomed Germany’s support for the projects of the NATO Strategic Communication Centre of Excellence and the Baltic Centre for Media Excellence.

Ambassador Rolf Ernst Schütte was accredited to Latvia on 25 August 2015.
