On 22–23 May 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Edgars Rinkēvičs, will take part in the annual Meeting of the Council of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) at Ministerial Level in Paris, France. The main theme of the event is harnessing digital transition for sustainable development.
The meeting will feature a discussion on how to reap the full benefits of digital transformation and address challenges, and on the role that the OECD can play in supporting policy making at both the national and international level.
On the margins of the Ministerial Council, Edgars Rinkēvičs will have a bilateral meeting with the OECD Secretary-General, Angel Gurría.
Latvia became the 35th OECD member state on 1 July 2016.
