06.04.2019. 15:17

On 6 April 2019, during the World Economic Forum on the Middle East and North Africa in Jordan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Edgars Rinkēvičs, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo, Behgjet Pacolli, for a discussion on bilateral relations, the process of Kosovo’s integration with the European Union (EU), and the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.

The Latvian Foreign Minister expressed support for Kosovo’s integration with the EU and welcomed progress made towards visa liberalisation. The Ministers also shared views on the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue. Although current relationship between Kosovo and Serbia can be rated as strained, Edgars Rinkēvičs called on them to resolve their differences by resuming the dialogue between the countries, which has a special importance for security across the region and for the future of the two countries in the EU.

Edgars Rinkēvičs invited the Foreign Minister of Kosovo to visit Latvia.
