The Ambassador of Latvia to the Czech Republic, Gunta Pastore, receives credentials

On 2 October 2018, in an official ceremony in the Riga Castle, the President of Latvia, Raimonds Vējonis, presented credentials to the designate Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Latvia to the Czech Republic, Gunta Pastore.

Gunta Pastore is currently Advisor on Foreign Affairs to the Speaker of the Saeima (the Latvian Parliament). Gunta Pastore joined the Foreign Service on 1994. At the MFA, she has headed the European Union Division, the EU External Relations Division, and the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Division. On her postings abroad, Gunta Pastore served as Deputy Head of Mission at the Latvian Embassies in the Kingdom of Denmark and later, in the Kingdom of Sweden.

Gunta Pastore has earned a doctor’s degree in political science and international relations. The Ambassador is fluent in English, Russian, and Swedish.
