On 24 May 2018, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Edgars Rinkēvičs, will meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Benin, Aurélien Agbénonci, who is coming to Latvia for a working visit.
Edgars Rinkēvičs and Aurélien Agbénonci will discuss regional issues relevant to Latvia and Benin, with a special focus on the potential for economic cooperation, expanding the legal framework and cooperation in international organisations. During the meeting, the parties intend to sign a memorandum of understanding between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs on the establishment of a mechanism for political consultations.
As part of his visit on 24-25 May, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Benin will meet with the senior management of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and businessmen, as well as presenting a book as a gift to the People’s Bookshelf at the National Library of Latvia.
